This is a cover for the Village Voice Spring Arts Guide I drew a few weeks ago. Obviously, its a tie in to the new Kick Ass movie that's coming out soon. I also drew a small spot featuring the same character for the interior article. I don't really know much about the movie, but it was fun to draw an action scene for a magazine cover.

i pick up the village voice every week and knew that was your art as soon as i saw the cover. it was a nice surprise to finally see some of your stuff in big bold print as opposed to the usual computer screen where i usually see it!
i'm pretty sure i've seen you do other other spot illos for the voice but this one stuck out more so than the others for obvious fanboy reasons! hahah!
if the movie's gonna be anything like the mini comic book series it was based off of i don't think you'll be missing much. but that's just me totally judging a book by it's cover. or judging a movie by it's book.

The movie's been out here in Australia for a week or more now. I haven't read the comic (though I plan to now) but the film I really liked a whole lot - it's one of the most plainly entertaining films I've seen in a long time. I struggle to think of the person who would dislike it but I don't want to build it up here... If anyone is at all hesitant about seeing it they should just watch the trailer, it gives a pretty accurate idea of the movie, I think.
Hahaha. I love this. The movie looks pretty funny. I haven't seen it yet.

Jason: Glad you were able to get this one in your neighbourhood. This is actually the first assignment I've done for the Village Voice. As for Kick Ass, the movie doesn't look like my kind of thing, so I'm probably going to pass on it.
